Senior Software Engineer
I was recruited for this job. The interview process is pretty straightforward. They put you in touch with a variety of internal folks. There is one in-person interview but since the positions are all remote most of the conversations are on the phone.
- Mostly technical questions
Software Engineer
I didn't even apply for this role! I got contacted on LinkedIn. An internal recruiter never called me back to chat about the job or see if I was a good fit. Instead, they set up a meeting with the hiring manager, who didn't even know what the job was about! Turns out, the role itself was still being figured out. The job description they gave me was super generic, mostly about 'soft' skills, but then the call was all about a very specific 'hard' skill from my background.
- What was the job description you were sent?
Software Development Engineer
It was a pretty long process with multiple technical rounds. The first technical round involved problems like checking for array subset relationships, finding bomb blast counts in a matrix, and tree level order traversal. The second technical round focused on tree problems like finding the max level sum and finding k closest elements in a sorted array. The third technical round included sorting a linked list, finding the top view of a tree, and basic OS/Networking concepts. The fourth technical round had questions on array splitting to minimize difference, counting unique palindromic substrings, LRU Cache, and Infix to Postfix conversion. They also asked about inheritance, linear vs non-linear data structures, projects I worked on, and challenges faced.
- Tell me about the projects you have worked on.
- Can you explain the challenges you encountered while developing your projects?
- Could you share your experience with mentorship, specifically in the context of Smart Interviews?
