I applied and then had a preliminary phone call with the recruiter. They use this to decide if they want to move forward with a full interview. The recruiter asked a lot of specific questions about my past work, like exact percentages of my time spent on tasks. Unfortunately, the shareholders decided not to interview me because they thought my salary expectations were too high, even though it's similar to what I make now at a smaller company.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I went through fall recruiting and worked with Areena, the recruiter, for a couple of months. She was very transparent and responsive, providing timely updates. The entire process felt transparent, friendly, and professional. The first round was with an audit manager. The second round lasted 3 hours and included interviews with a partner, a senior and manager, and a coffee interview with 2 staff members. The coffee interview was informal and a good opportunity to ask questions. I did not receive an offer but was impressed with Perkins. For fall recruiting candidates, start early and engage with as many people as possible at events like their open house, the OSCPA Career showcase, and Meet the Firms night.
