Media Manager
I went through the whole interview process, and they said I'd hear back the next week about the job. I waited until Thursday to follow up, and heard nothing back. I ended up having to call, and still no answer. I finally got a response saying my application was unsuccessful, which was really disrespectful and unprofessional after I spent so much time prepping, interviewing, and talking to employees. This isn't the first time I've had issues with a Publicis Groupe company, and honestly, I'm glad it happened because I wouldn't want to work for a company that treats people this way, let alone how they treat their employees.
- Can you describe your previous experiences?
Media Manager
I reached out to the recruiter on LinkedIn and they got back to me a few weeks later about this opening. The process started with a phone call with a recruiter, followed by a phone interview with a manager, and then an in-person interview where I met with three current employees, each for about 30 minutes. It was a pretty relaxed atmosphere, which helped calm my nerves. Each interviewer asked questions from the same list and then gave me 15 minutes to ask them questions. Interestingly, two of the interviewers mentioned they were hired with no prior experience, but ultimately they decided to go with someone who had more experience, which was a bit disappointing.
- What is your motivation for pursuing paid social advertising?
- Describe your ideal manager and what qualities you value in a manager.
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage several projects simultaneously?
Media Manager
This was honestly the worst interview process I've ever gone through. It took ages, like over 6 weeks, which is just crazy. If you're trying to make a candidate lose interest, this is how you do it. The worst part was in the final interview, they told me the role was open because the last person left due to no growth opportunities. I applied on LinkedIn and messaged the poster, and they called me right away for a phone interview. But after that, it all went downhill. I had this 4-hour interview at their Santa Monica office, and the moment I walked in, I got a bad feeling. The office was a mess, people looked miserable, and the whole vibe was just super depressing for an advertising agency. I work with Publicis now, which is why I even applied, but I'm so glad I got an offer elsewhere. The recruiter was nice, but dragging this out for over 6 weeks is not okay. I get that the hiring team needs to decide, but as a recruiter, you should be rushing to fill the spot. Honestly, I wish I could get those PTO hours back that I used for this. Just save yourself the trouble unless you plan on leaving after a year.
- What's your reason for leaving your current job?
- Tell me about your Excel skills and your favorite function.
- What do you like to do outside of work?
