Before even an interview, they sent over 8 in-depth questions via email. You have to chase up the application yourself, and they don't really give any reply or feedback, so it feels like a waste of time for everyone involved.

  • Can you give an example of a favorite project you designed in CAD? Was it manufactured, and if so, what materials and methods were used?
  • If your favorite CAD project wasn't manufactured, describe your favorite manufactured project.
  • Tell me about a project where you had hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, or testing, not simulations.

I filled out my resume and then got contacted for a bit more info. After that, a phone screening was set up but it got rescheduled multiple times. Eventually, I got a call but the interviewer was busy and wanted to reschedule again. Then, another person called me for a really quick screening. After that, the initial interviewer called me back for a short interview and mentioned that no one else should have been contacting me. At the end of it, I was told to call back if I was still interested. Now I'm confused if I should call them to schedule an interview like person A said, or wait for a reschedule like person B suggested. Reading other reviews, I'm thinking of just dropping this opportunity.

Behavioral Technical Other

The owner Don Burgoon called me on a Saturday afternoon. He seemed nice at first, but I was wrong. He asked when I could come for an on-site interview, and I flew out the next day for an interview that Monday. He picked me up from the airport and put me up in a hotel. His assistant picked me up the next morning for the interview. It was disorganized, interviewing with production and engineering staff from 8 am to 4 pm with no lunch break. As my flight neared, he made an on-the-spot offer and negotiated the wage in person, which surprised me into accepting. I was then rushed to the airport. The unprofessionalism, disorganized, and dirty environment should have tipped me off to the company culture.

Be honest when they ask you something. Show that you're capable, but don't be overly confident. Don't be shy. Keep a good attitude. Come prepared with a plan on how you'd do well. This plan should include your strategies for finding leads and how you'd initiate contact with them. Make sure you understand your sales process and can explain it well.
