The phone screen and then a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and his colleague in marketing went really well, but then the company president totally no-showed to his scheduled interview with me. His management team apologized a lot, but I waited for 40 minutes before leaving. As I left, I told his assistant he could schedule a phone interview or another interview after work hours (since I have a current job). I never heard back from him, nor got an apology. I ended up telling them I wasn't interested anymore. The Glassdoor reviews from former employees are pretty rough; my guess is that the newer management is trying hard to fix things, but it's tough when you're not the ultimate boss.

I applied online for the marketing assistant job and got a call back the next day for a quick phone screen. They asked me to send writing samples. A few hours later, they called to set up an in-person interview for Monday. I had to fill out a long application with references and salary expectations. The interview was one-on-one with standard questions. They said they'd send a take-home assignment, but never did. I've since learned about the company and don't think I'd accept an offer anyway.

I found this job online and applied, and about three weeks later, the company reached out. They first asked me for my salary expectations and availability. After I replied, they sent an application form, but the PDF was messed up, duplicating some fields. I sent back what I could, and a couple of days later, I had a phone interview. They then asked me to come in for an in-person interview. When I got there early, I wasn't met by the interviewer but by other staff who took me to a conference room. I had to take a test, but the website wasn't working, so I waited about 15 minutes. Eventually, the interviewer came, fixed the website, and I completed the tests. After that, I met with the hiring manager and another person. They didn't ask typical questions but instead had me explain how data centers and web hosting companies operate. The interview felt disorganized for a Systems Administrator role. Finally, I interviewed with the CTO, who focused on whether I'd be a good fit for their small team, seeming more interested in the size of my previous workplaces than my personality.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

Applied on Indeed and got an email about a week later asking for my salary requirements and start date. Responded, and they followed up with a phone interview. After that, I was asked in for an initial assessment where they had me analyze marketing efforts and plan a fake event on the computer for about an hour. Then, I met with the hiring manager and my future manager to discuss my past experience. About two weeks later, I had another interview with the CTO to assess my "fit" with the company culture, which mostly involved chatting about his family and had little to do with the company or its culture. About a week after that, I was emailed that they chose another applicant. Two to three weeks later, they called again saying their first choice didn't accept, so they offered me the job, emphasizing I wasn't their first choice.
