Payroll Administrator
I went through 3 interviews over a month for a Payroll Administrator role. It seemed to go well until after the background check, where I was completely ignored. I was given an offer with a potential start date, but when I reached out to HR to confirm, I was told my offer was 'put on hold' with no real reason, just to wait for a letter from the background check company. The letter stated I might be denied the position but didn't explain why. I've called and emailed the interviewer and HR multiple times without any clear answer for 3 weeks. My background checks (drug, criminal, driving) are clean, so I suspect it's credit-related, but I can't believe no one will give me a straight answer. It's a terrible and unprofessional way to be treated.
- What prompted your departure from your last job?
Sales
Got referred by a friend to the New Car Sales Manager. They asked me to bring my driving record and resume. He set up the first interview, and it was pretty chill, just talking about our experiences in the car business. He then set up a second interview right then with the General Manager. I was told a few times not to be late, and I made sure to be early. He ended up being over an hour late, and the interview was super fast. He said he liked my attitude. They said I'd hear back about a third interview with the Area Vice President. Again, I was early, and he was late. After the interviews, there was a really thorough background check that involved a 2-hour phone interview. The whole thing took about 4 weeks.
- What value will you bring to this role?
Parts Warehouse Representative
I applied at the end of last year and got a call from HR the same afternoon. Everything seemed good, I'm definitely qualified, but the hiring manager in Florida never responded to my emails about the position. HR actually told me to reach out to the parts team myself to introduce myself before the next interview stage. I felt that was really disrespectful and a lack of professionalism, which was pretty disappointing.
- Can you elaborate on your logistics experience?
- What would you say are your main strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Sales Associate
I had a long interview, about 2 hours, and then another one later. They asked about my past work experience and how it relates to this role. We talked about potential scenarios, my qualifications, sales strategies I've used, and why I'd be a good fit.
- How would you handle a customer?
- Can you describe your previous work experience and how it relates to this position?
- What scenarios do you anticipate encountering in this role?
