First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PennWell Corporation.
Senior Editor
Had a one on one chat about my personal experiences, what I did in my work, my education, my industry knowledge, my writing abilities, and some other minor things. The interviewer told me about the team members and the company's history. It was a really chill interview.
- What was one thing they asked you?
- Can you share an experience related to your personal background?
- Describe your work responsibilities.
Vice President
Got the job through a former colleague. First had a phone call to go over the role, talking about my position in the company and future growth. Then, we planned an in-person meeting at a different location. I flew out there about a week later and got the offer within two weeks of that meeting.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in PennWrll?
Editorial
It took them about a month to respond after I applied and we had a quick, easy phone interview. The next week, I went in for an in-person interview where I met with a recruiter and my two potential supervisors. I heard back the day after that.
- Are you more inclined towards creative writing or technical writing, and what's your reasoning?
Conference Manager
The process was very short, consisting of just one round of interviews with three interviewers. They asked the typical questions you'd expect. It was a really friendly atmosphere, and they called me back the same day with an offer.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you had to sort out a disagreement between coworkers?
