Product Designer
First, there was a recruiter call where they read from a script and confirmed the role requires coming into the office. Then, a call with the hiring manager (who is remote) where I had to show my work and answer typical behavioral and process questions. After that, a take-home design task, which was unpaid and felt like they were fishing for AI ideas. They said to spend 3-4 hours, but the requirements for product thinking, designing, documentation, and building a presentation were easily 7-8+ hours. Next, a panel interview to present the take-home work. Most of the panel just stared, while the hiring manager asked very specific, nitpicky questions, seemingly to justify taking the work. Finally, a series of 6-7 one-on-one cross-functional interviews, which the recruiter mentioned would ideally take 3-4 hours.
- Be ready to discuss the work you present.
- Prepare to defend every icon choice.
- Be ready to explain your systematic thinking and patterns.

Had four interviews total, which was great because they were efficient and got straight to the point. I spoke with the people on the teams I'd be working with and some of the execs, which I really liked.

Got my application noticed fast and the recruiter called me within a week. But on the phone, the recruiter was kinda all over the place with questions. They misunderstood some of my questions about working with other teams and how I could grow my career, giving unprofessional answers. They also seemed to lose interest when I said I'd need visa sponsorship. It wasn't super professional or a great chat. They shot back a rejection email pretty fast, asking me to do a feedback survey, but they didn't offer any feedback themselves.
- What motivates your interest in joining Peloton?
- Could you describe your present responsibilities?
- What are your aspirations for your upcoming position?
