First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pei Wei Asian Diner.
Front of House
It was a short and quick process. They really seemed to want someone with a schedule that's at least a little bit flexible. Like with any job, the first step is to hand in an application. After that, they'll let you know if they're interested in hiring you by phone or email, depending on if they're currently hiring. Then, you'll have an in-person interview where the manager wants to see if you'll fit in with the team and how you handle being put on the spot. Lastly, they'll go over the finer details like your work schedule and past experience.

Wait Staff
I applied when the place first opened. I just walked in and while I was filling out the application, they saw I was a go-getter and really friendly and welcoming. The DM saw how I was and immediately sat down to chat. He initially said all spots were taken, but as I kept talking, smiling, and saying I'd be a great addition to their team, he said I had the exact energy they were looking for. They hired me right then and there. The training is very thorough and they have amazing customer service, really taking care of any issues. I'd say if you don't like dealing with difficult customers, maybe skip working here.

- What's your background in customer service?
Cashier
I went in on a Tuesday afternoon, asked for an application, filled it out, and then asked to see a manager to give it to them directly. The manager was there, took my application, and said they'd be in touch. After that, I was called in for an interview and was offered the job right away (I was 16 and it was my first job). It was a really nice experience.
- What makes you want to work at this company?
- Have you had any previous jobs that are similar to this one?
Dishwasher
I went in, got a business card, filled out an application on paper, turned in a resume, and chatted with the manager. They showed me the kitchen and explained the job duties. I went back later that week to check in, and the person doing the dishwasher job had quit. They offered me the job right then, no interview needed. I got trained as I worked.
