I applied on LinkedIn and got a request for a 30 minute phone meeting with the recruiter. I was asked to fill out an official application on the company website. We went over my background, why I was looking to leave my current company, and the position that was open at PEI. A few days later I got a call to come in for a meeting with the procurement team. I met with two leads, the director and another buyer on the team. The team that interviewed me was really friendly and easy to talk to. It was a STAR style interview, they also went into deeper depth on the company and on position responsibilities. The person that I would be reporting to called back later in the day and offered me the position.

First, I had a phone call where they talked about the company and the job, and asked me a couple of questions. Then, I went for an on-site interview with the hiring manager and a coworker where they asked about my experience. After that, they called me to offer me the job.

The process started with HR in China, then moved to the CEO in Singapore, then back to the CEO in China (Head of Asia), and finally concluded with the CEO in Singapore again. This took approximately 6 months because the role encompasses Field Application Engineer, Customer Application Engineer, and Sales Representative duties. Since I didn't have a degree, my experience and knowledge were crucial, especially as PEI-Genesis was in the same business (DISTRIBUTION - connectors) as my previous employers.

A recruiter reached out to me on a job site. We scheduled a phone interview for the next day (Thursday). I heard back from the recruiter on Friday, and he said the hiring manager wanted to talk to me. We set up a video interview via WebEx for the following Monday. The interview went well; the manager was really nice and gave a lot of insight. He went into detail about the company and the role. We went over my resume and he asked some questions about my long-term goals and what I'm looking for in the position. I heard back the next morning with an offer. Overall, it was the fastest and easiest interview process I've had.
