The interview for the Associate Product Manager (Data) role was a good experience. I interacted well with HR, and they gave me feedback after every stage. The interviewers were friendly and seemed more interested in finding the right person than just deciding yes or no. The interviews felt more like conversations than an interrogation, which helped me relax. Unfortunately, I didn't get the offer because they found someone who was a better fit.

First, there was a phone interview screening. It was basic stuff like what you do, why you're looking for a job, why Pega, and your current compensation. Nothing too serious. Second, a technical Skype interview. We talked about my background, the types of products I've built, and why I changed jobs. Just be consistent, and if you're a good fit, you'll get an on-site interview invitation. Third, the on-site interview. This included a logical test, where you have to model situations rather than just jump to answers. Then, an interview with the head of PM, followed by interviews with other PMs, and then an interview with UX/UI. Finally, a group exercise where everyone from the previous meetings joined. We were given an intro to the product and asked to modify it. This is tricky if you don't have a strong technical background; it wasn't easy for me to understand everything since I've never built an enterprise-level analytics system and only had a rough idea of how it works. I've built similar tech products, so I could still have a meaningful discussion. But even without a background, prepare to outline the structure and then go for exploratory problem and solution discovery.

Behavioral Other

They emailed me and told me to schedule a time through a calendar system. There was no initial phone screen, which felt super impersonal. The calendar was blocked out for multiple weeks. Finally got a call for the time, but a customer meeting ran late at my current job. I couldn't cancel that, as it would be rude to my customer. Called right back, but they had no cell phones, which was strange. They said if I missed the interview that was too bad. I guess I was supposed to ignore my customer and abandon my job responsibilities or reschedule through the system in front of my customer or know that it was going to run late. I would think responsible behavior would be a desirable quality, but I guess not. Also, consider having your recruiters carry cell phones or something other than the calendar system and email. The desk number was unreachable. It seems that this company had other poor reviews. Definitely culture issues.
