I went through a hiring process with a third-party for Peer Health Exchange. First, I did a one-person interview where I had to record myself. Then, I had two more interviews with people from the PHE team I would have been working with. It was helpful that they sent the questions ahead of time. However, the recruiter was not very responsive and gave me the wrong questions for the first interview. After those three interviews, the hiring consultancy contacted three of my references, which was the last step. I didn't get an offer, but the rejection email from the recruiter said, "Thank you for Engaging with us." After putting in a lot of time and weeks into this process, getting such a impersonal email and going through the whole interview process felt dehumanizing and showed they didn't value candidates' time.

Behavioral Presentation

First, there was a one-way video interview. Then, I had an hour-long interview with the hiring manager. I was a bit disappointed by the generic rejection email after that, especially since I've worked in HR for a while and could tell it was a template. I spent an hour of my time and would have appreciated a more personal response instead of the standard 'Thanks for applying' email. I think candidates deserve a little more consideration at this stage.

Behavioral Technical

The hiring process involved a few steps. First was an initial screening interview with some typical questions. Then, there was a written exercise. After that, an in-person interview with the hiring manager. Finally, there was a follow-up interview with both the hiring manager and the CEO. Coordinating times was a bit of a struggle with the national HR team, possibly due to issues with their HR platform. Things like attachments not sending correctly, communication mix-ups about availability, and slow responses were consistent throughout the process, which made things difficult.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The initial screening interview asked standard questions, and the interviews with the hiring manager struck a good balance between generic and unusual questions, never leaning too far either way. The conversations felt natural, and I received feedback while also being able to ask my own questions during the discussion.

Technical Other

It all began with an email, and I got a response within a few days to schedule my first call with the recruiter. A few days after that, I was asked to do some tasks for their screening, like a press mockup and a programming proposal. Then, a couple of weeks passed with no news, so I emailed the recruiter twice. It took them another couple of weeks to reply, saying they had moved on. I asked for feedback since I thought I was a finalist but never got anything. Months later, I saw a job posting from them that seemed very similar to a plan I had suggested.
