It was a long process, with multiple levels and days. I was interviewed by buyers who had less experience than me. I had a few phone interviews with HR, then met face-to-face with staff, and finally the owners. This all happened before the company was sold.

The interview was quick and successful. Monika was great, energetic, and clearly enjoyed working for Peekay, which made me excited for my first day. She started by asking about my past work and sales experience. Then, she inquired about my relevant skills and qualities. She shared company history, gave me a tour of the workspace, and explained the job duties.

I had my first interview at the store I would work at. Then, I had a second interview about 50 miles away from the store where I'd be working. The interviewer was dressed really oddly, wearing a corset, way too much makeup, and a skirt with a slit that would have shown everything if she bent over. She also made transphobic comments during the interview. Honestly, I should have known better than to accept the offer.
