First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pearson.
Marketing Project Manager
The scheduling was a bit slow because it was handled by someone overseas, but overall I liked the people. I made it to the final interviews, but didn't get an offer. I found out via an automated message after I followed up, weeks after the last interview. I asked for feedback but never heard back. It felt impersonal and like they didn't value my time, especially after I'd put in hours of prep and interviewing. I expected more than an automated reply after going through multiple rounds.
- What motivates you to join Pearson?
Project Manager
I interviewed with several Pearson managers over two months. The offer came early, but negotiations took the full two months. The job was tough: a key account customer was suing, and the goal was to manage the project, improve the relationship, and bring back value. Pearson was honest about the challenge. I also shared my goals for learning and career growth, which they've agreed to. Interviews included HR (for salary/benefits basics), other project managers, operations directors, and the VP of Services. They really dug into my past work and got references from outside clients.
- In your opinion, what are the top three critical success factors for a project manager?
- What motivates you to want to work for Pearson?
Project Manager
It began with a casual HR chat, then a 30-minute phone call with the Hiring Manager, and finally a 1-hour in-person interview. After the face-to-face, I got absolutely no feedback, calls, or emails, which was super frustrating. I get that I might not have been the perfect fit, but when I tried to reach out to HR for an update, they just ghosted me. Really bad way to handle things.
