They did a technical interview that lasted about an hour with 5 technical people. Then there was a HR interview to talk about salaries and then a background verification. They also interviewed 2 referees for me, spending 20 minutes on each one.

My former colleague at Pearson reached out about a role on their team that they felt I'd be a good fit for. I applied in July 2015, and they mentioned needing someone within a month, but HR seemed to have a different timeline. It took over three weeks for HR to contact me to set up a phone interview. When they did, they were inflexible about scheduling, expecting me to rearrange my entire day for the call with the hiring manager. I made the changes, but the manager was over 20 minutes late for our 30-minute scheduled call. Despite that, the conversation with the manager went well, and he said he'd have HR schedule an in-person interview. It took another 8 business days, even after I followed up twice, for HR to get back to me to schedule the in-person. I asked HR multiple times to confirm the location, as Pearson has many offices in NYC and my colleague worked in Manhattan, but I was told to go to the Hoboken office. Upon arrival in Hoboken, I discovered I was supposed to be in Manhattan. My former colleague was unsure which office was correct as his manager worked from both. Frustrated with the whole process and the lack of clarity, I decided to withdraw my application.
