This was a great interview process. The team is mostly young, motivated, and friendly, with a strong emphasis on team culture, making it feel like hanging out with friends. The interview lasted a few hours and included technical skill assessments for a software engineer role and opportunities to meet the team.

Behavioral

I was contacted by a recruiter via email and then the scheduling for a phone interview with the hiring manager was really difficult. I gave them my availability, but then heard nothing back for days. When the recruiter finally got back to me, the proposed interview time was less than two hours away. This kept happening for over a week. The hiring manager was late for our phone interview. We talked about my background and my previous roles. The call dropped several times, probably because the hiring manager was using their personal phone and kept stepping into elevators. Overall, I wasn't impressed with their interview process.

Coding Technical

After submitting coding challenges on CodeEval, I was invited for an in-person interview the next day. The hiring manager asked some standard questions, then gave me a paper with a programming problem (building a JSON parser for a complex output), which took about 3 hours and wasn't completed. I discussed my solution with a coworker and was given another problem: create a survey tool in HTML/Javascript. Since I didn't know Javascript, they provided internet access. After 4 hours, I had the basics but didn't finish. I was asked to complete both problems at home for a potential second interview. The initial on-site took 7 hours, excluding the CodeEval and home completion time. I had little time for questions. A second interview was offered, but as a student, the commitment of another 7-hour interview was too much, so I declined.
