First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Peabody Properties.
Software Support Associate
You came in as part of a job fair, and they had you fill out the application again even though you already did it online when you registered. Then, you were interviewed by someone who was supposed to have experience in your department.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Property Manager
The interview process felt informative, honest, and comfortable. Laurie was really detailed and knew a lot about the company's core values and expectations. She was also genuinely interested in what I was looking for and how my skills could benefit Peabody. I didn't feel like she was trying to sell me on the company or the job. Her experience there made it seem like a great long-term career choice, which is exactly what I'm after. I left feeling like I'd found the perfect company and had the chance to meet some awesome people.
- What would make you leave a long-term employer to join Peabody?
Compliance Director
The process kicked off with a phone interview with the HR Director. Then, I had another call with the VP of Compliance. A face-to-face meeting was set up for the following week. During that meeting, I met with three people, including one of the principals. Unexpectedly, I got offered the job right then and there. I think they were sure I had the skills, experience, and knowledge needed, and the in-person interview was to check if I'd be a good personality fit for the company.
- What prompted your job search?
Service Manager
I got a call back from Peabody within a week of applying. It took them more than a month to actually set up an interview date though. The interview itself went pretty well, I talked to a senior property manager, a property manager, and a corporate person all at once. They ended up hiring someone else for the role I applied for, even though I thought I had it in the bag. But then they offered me the exact same job at a different location, which worked out fine in the end. If you've got the skills and the right attitude, Peabody wants you.
- Tell me about your previous work experience and where you've worked before.
- Describe how you would handle a situation where you're informed of a pipe leak on the fourth floor while en route, and then simultaneously receive a call about a power outage in another apartment and a resident approaches you about a broken garbage disposal. How would you manage these issues?
