First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pctest Engineering Lab..
Test Engineer
I went through two interviews, first with the VP and then with the department head of OTA and my hiring manager together. Normally, you'd interview with the managers first, then the VP, but my process was reversed. The VP started with basic questions like how my major connects to our work. That interview went great, and I was scheduled for the next one the same week. Both were virtual due to COVID. The second interview was more of a technical and behavioral mix. They asked about my knowledge of OTA, some fundamental RF concepts, and a lot of behavioral questions. This team really values teamwork and a specific mindset, so if you fit that, technical gaps are less of a concern.
- Tell me about how your academic background relates to this role.
- What's your understanding of OTA?
- What can you tell us about basic RF concepts?
SAR Engineer
I found out about this role through my college's recruiting events. Some alumni from my program came to campus and gave a presentation about the company and the job. I had already sent my resume and shown interest, so after the presentation, they wanted to chat. It felt like a casual chat where they gave me a lot of details about the job and what I'd be doing. Then, I was invited for an interview at their main office. There were two rounds. The first round included questions about my resume and some behavioral questions, and they finished it with a circuit question. The second interview was more practical, focusing on hands-on engineering tasks using their equipment.
- Can you share a strength and a weakness you have?
Associate Technician
The interview process was very easy and straightforward. First, I applied for the position at the Morgan Hill Site. If my credentials matched, I was notified by email for a screening call with a recruiter. If that went well, I advanced to a second (maybe third) interview with the engineer lead. The questions were mostly about my availability and my resume, past experience, but nothing too fancy. The only issue was that HR scheduled an interview without telling me beforehand.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your past experiences?
- What is your availability like, including day or night shifts?
Biomedical Engineer
I had a phone call interview. They asked me about my experience in the lab and with testing processes. They also asked how I got into Biomedical Engineering and my career goals for the next decade.
- Did you ever step into a leadership role?
- How long have you worked in research?
- What led you to pursue Biomedical Engineering?
