First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PCS Global Tech.
Data and BI Consultant
The first stage is an online assessment that covers SQL, Database Management, and T-SQL. You'll get study materials beforehand. This assessment has multiple-choice questions and SQL coding tasks. A score of 50% or higher is needed to move on. If you don't pass initially, there's a second attempt available.
- What are the different normal forms (1NF, 2NF, 3NF) and the rules for normalization?
Business Analyst
It was a pretty standard process for someone starting out as a BA, and it moved along nicely. First, I had a call with HR to go over my resume and talk about why I was interested. Then, the main part was a panel interview with the hiring manager and a senior analyst. They mostly asked situational questions and checked if I understood the basic requirements. They were clear about the timeline, which was helpful. It's a good setup for entry-level jobs, although it didn't go into much technical depth.
- Can you share an example of a time when...?
Software Engineer
I'm not taking any interviews, I don't know about the interview, please don't take my review. Just practice DSA and some basic questions. And in SQL practice Joins, Normalisation and its forms, and some Queries.
- Could you write a program to determine if a number is prime?
- Can you explain SQL Joins?
- What is SQL Normalisation?
Project Placement Specialist
They started with a recruiter phone call, then an HR call to go over the process. After that, there was a 40-question online test covering Data Modeling, SQL Concepts, TSQL, SQL Queries, and Logics. This was followed by a mock technical interview and then a real technical interview. The deal is you have to enroll in their 10-day academy (they'll house you) with no strings attached, then do another 8-10 weeks of training. After that, you get a project. The catch is a 15-month commitment that feels like indentured servitude, costing $1000/month if you don't finish. You also need a co-signer (not a lawyer), a non-.edu email, and you have to let them represent you and your resume. I passed on this because of the red flags, thinking I could find a job without these terms.
- How would you write a query to get the count of how many times a certain value appears in a column?
- Could you explain what normalization forms are and describe 1NF, 2NF, and 3NF?
- What is the difference between delete, truncate, and drop commands?
