So, I'm not sure if PayPal Recruiting cares about whether their core values are reflected in their recruiting process, but it's pretty rough to see so many reviews about them ghosting candidates, and I had that happen too. It started with a recruiter call, which was good, and then I talked to the hiring manager, which was also good. They said the next steps would be a bunch of one-on-one chats with other managers and that I'd hear back no matter what. Then, radio silence. I followed up a week later and got some vague responses about holidays and people being out of office. About three weeks after the hiring manager chat, I asked again and was told they went with an internal candidate. This was weird because the job was posted again later. I felt like my application just got lost in the shuffle – too many people, a busy hiring manager, and a recruiting process that just goes quiet instead of giving clear answers. It didn't feel respectful, and it didn't seem like the recruiters and hiring managers were working together well. It definitely didn't feel like it matched PayPal's values, and it made me feel like a transaction rather than a person.

We had about 6 or 7 discussions with different leaders from various groups, keeping company values in mind. The first chat was about general understanding of the domain and industry. The second one was on specific skills.

I had a phone screen with the hiring Manager and then I was invited for a face-to-face for the group interview. I met with 3 Senior Managers for the in-person round. They really grilled me, but overall they were super friendly and nice. They seemed to really appreciate each other and kept mentioning what a great team they are. I was tired from talking non-stop for 2 hours. I thought it went well, but they gave me feedback that they were looking for someone with more experience in Program Management. It made me question why they even called me since I had clearly stated everything on my resume and in my conversation with the hiring Manager.
