I got a big and complicated test task where they asked me to rewrite all the website content. I spent 48 hours straight working on it and even gave them extra stuff. But I never heard back, not even bad feedback, even though I asked multiple times. They just open my emails and disappear. Super unprofessional. It's a shame because payever seemed like a cool, young company I would have liked to work for, but the reality is totally different.

Applied to payever through LinkedIn and submitted the application, not really expecting much. About a week later, I heard back from a recruiter saying my application was successful. I had to complete a Content Writer Task, which was fine. The task required writing a comprehensive article about payever following strict guidelines. It was challenging due to the length and need for detail. I had to research a lot, but it paid off since I got the job.

A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. After I showed interest, they passed me to their HR. They asked for my CV and portfolio and then sent me a take-home assignment that involved writing a lot of content and took me several hours. I submitted it and about 10 days later, the recruiter explained their process for freelance content writers: I would need to complete several tasks, and they would pay 10 USD per task. I asked about the scope and quantity of these tasks. After another 10 days, they responded, saying they're a startup with limited resources and expected me to write 4 articles a week, each at least 2000 words, for 10 USD per article. I declined, stating this was exploitative and unacceptable, and advised others not to fall for the 'do several tasks first' approach as it seems to be a way to exploit writers.
