The Paycom interview process was really impressive. They responded and gave feedback super fast from start to finish. The HR staff were really helpful in making sure I succeeded in my interview. I especially appreciated Samantha from HR. She was professional, knew her stuff, and was positive, encouraging, and enthusiastic. She called the day before the on-campus interview to explain the process and what kind of questions to expect. Our chat was really encouraging and helped calm my nerves a lot. On interview day, after going through security, two friendly HR folks greeted me before I met with the department's Team Lead. The interview went well. They asked STAR questions, just like the HR staff had prepared me for. They clearly explained the job and what they expected. It turned out it wasn't the right fit for me, and that's okay. I'll keep an eye out for other roles at Paycom because I really want to work there. My impression is they do their job well and treat people well.

I got contacted by a recruiter for a quick phone chat about the job. Then I had an in-person interview the next week. During the in-person part, two team leads read questions from a script and told me to be super specific. They took notes while I answered. The questions seemed designed to figure out my work personality, kind of indirectly. After the questions, the team leads talked about their own experiences, even sharing some bad stuff they went through at Paycom, which felt like they were checking if I could handle the job. The leads mentioned it was their first time managing anyone, and it showed. I heard from the recruiter that I wouldn't get an offer within 48 hours after the in-person interview. They didn't give me any feedback on why I wasn't a good fit, and the final call from the recruiter was super short, only 26 seconds. It felt like a bit of a waste of time because of the lack of feedback.

My interview process went great. Very timely and professional. The recruiter was awesome. So first, I had a phone interview with the recruiter. At the end of the first interview, I got offered a second interview with two team leads that went great. About 5 hours after the second interview the recruiter called and offered me the position. I gratefully accepted the offer! I will say the interview process was great but the background check was VERY extensive and took about a week but all in all, it was a good experience.
- Can you share an instance where you received critical feedback and describe how you incorporated it?
