Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Paycom.
Intern
The interview process was very brief and conducted over the phone, and it wasn't too difficult. Their website can be a bit confusing to navigate when setting things up, but the recruiters were helpful in guiding me to the right places.
- What sparks your interest in Paycom?
Intern
The interview process was very polite and accommodating, with multiple rounds. They were interested in extracurricular activities and past experiences. It was mostly conversational, and the managers were kind, though a bit intense during the interview. A mini sales pitch was requested.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
Intern
Initial communication was easy but the interview itself was very informal. The interviewers asked questions that seemed off topic and irrelevant. They didn't seem to understand that working for their company wasn't my life goal, but I thought it was a great opportunity and was interested in pursuing it. I was very informed about the company and had related experience but they focused on asking questions about my previous work experience that didn't make sense, because I assume they didn't understand anything about the industry.
- What are your five-year career aspirations?
