Generally, it goes from recruiter, to hiring manager, to leadership, but some managers do it differently. Some might have you do 5 rounds and meet in person. It really depends on who you're interviewing with.

They really put you through it for this gig. You start with online personality, reading, and math tests, then a phone screening. After that, there's a second phone interview, then you meet with the boss, followed by a phone interview with the boss and his boss. Then, you spend an afternoon shadowing a current rep (a ride-along). Right after that, you interview again with the boss to debrief the ride-along. The next day, they want you to have learned a presentation and present it over the phone, and then send them contact info for your former bosses for 'coaching information.' I bailed at that point because it was just too much for a job with a base salary under $40k. They also asked for W-2s to prove income, which feels super invasive and is likely illegal. I also got the vibe the male boss was prying into my family planning, asking if I was 'bringing any little ones' when I mentioned a trip. He also kept downplaying my recent sales experience, focusing on my oldest job even though my most recent was relevant. It felt like an old boys' club. The recruiter was cool though, she used to do the job. I just got weird vibes and it didn't seem as legit as advertised. They claimed you could make six figures, but it seemed improbable, like a lot of hustle for little reward. It also felt like they'd micromanage call tracking and time. The place had cheesy motivational sales posters, a very fake 'sales culture.'

I applied online, then I found the recruiter for the area and contacted her on Linkedin. She then looked me up and contacted the DSM for the area. He wanted to interview me. After my interview with him I went on a field ride with a rep. If that went well, then I'd interview with the Zone Manager. Once I had my interview with the Zone Manager, I was presented an offer. Then the drug test and background screening started.
