Client Service Associate
I got an email about a month after applying to set up a phone interview. The recruiter who called seemed really uninterested, like she just wanted to get through the call. My impression from talking to her made me not want the job, and she didn't even give me a chance to ask questions. It felt like they're looking for the cheapest hire, not necessarily the best. I did get a rejection email though. The job details were: Hours Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. MST, $17.00/hour. Benefits start the month after you're hired: Medical, Dental, Life insurance options. Also, 26 days of Paid Time Off annually (10 days vacation accrual, 6 Federal Holidays, 4 Floating Holidays, 5 Sick Days, 1 Day Community Volunteerism). 401(k) Plan with immediate enrollment and company match after 1 year. Tuition assistance is also available.
- Can you share an instance where you delivered outstanding client service?
- Describe the most challenging situation you've faced and its result.
- What productivity targets were you expected to achieve in your previous roles?

The hiring process is pretty long, it can take 3-4 weeks. First, you submit an online application. If your background matches, you might hear from a recruiter in about a week. It usually takes another week to set up testing and an initial interview, and maybe another week for a second interview. After you get an offer and accept, they'll run a background check and drug test, which takes at least another week. Make sure they don't mess up your drug sample, or it'll take even longer! They have a clear hiring process, but it's just too slow and can make you lose motivation waiting.
- Describe a time you had to deal with an upset client and how you handled it.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you resolved an issue with a difficult client?
- What was the result of your efforts when you addressed a client's problem?
Client Service Representative
The initial phone screen will check basic qualifications and availability. Are you able to travel for a two-week training? Can you work overtime if needed? Then, there's a one-on-one with managers, potentially up to four depending on the branch manager's preference. The first interview involves reviewing your application and resume, assessing your technical skills like PC and Office proficiency, and you'll take a skills test and a personality assessment. If your skills test score is good, the second interview focuses more on customer service skills. They'll ask about your best and worst customer service experiences and what your manager would say about you. A later interview happens after the personality test results are in. This interview will ask for examples based on those results, using "tell me about a time" style questions, and will also cover company expectations and compensation. If you pass this stage, you'll get a conditional job offer, pending a drug screen and background check.
