So there was one phone interview and then 2 in-person. The first in-person was with two to three supervisors and I got to shadow a payroll specialist for a bit which was super helpful. After that, I met with the branch manager.

I sent in my application online and got an assessment with math and hypothetical questions. Make sure you're in a quiet place for it because it needs focus and can be tricky. The very next day, Steven Martinez, the recruiter, who is truly wonderful, called. We set up a phone interview for the next morning. After Steven and I chatted about my background, I got scheduled for an in-person interview with two supervisors the Wednesday after that. Following that chat, I got the awesome chance to shadow a Senior Payroll Specialist. I got to ask tons of questions and see what the job is like on a busy Wednesday. After my visit to Paychex, I had one last interview with another manager the Monday after. All the interviews had behavioral questions that needed real, honest answers. The day after that, I got the best call ever – a job offer, pending my background check and drug test. The whole thing was smooth, fast, and efficient. I've finished my new hire paperwork and I'm starting with the Paychex family in two weeks.

I applied for the job on Indeed and then filled out an application on their website. The next day, a recruiter emailed me asking me to take an assessment test, which was a math quiz focused on percentages. I sent the completed test back the same night. A few days later, the recruiter scheduled a casual phone call, more of a quick chat than a full interview. After that call, she set up a face-to-face interview at their local office for the following week. I had two in-person interviews. The first was with two supervisors, and I also shadowed someone. They were really nice and asked situational questions. The day after, a different supervisor called to schedule my second in-person interview. I met her the next day, and she also asked situational questions.
