I interviewed with a staffing company. They asked about my experience being customer-facing, building relationships and partnerships, and understanding the technical aspects of product specific to the industry. They also mentioned that the role requires me to be comfortable standing on my feet for long periods of time. Overall, it was a standard interview experience.

The interview process started with an HR phone screen, followed by a video call with the hiring manager, who is the head of FP&A. After that, there were three short video calls to meet the team. Then, I was given a business case that had two parts: a business analysis and a data analysis section requiring the use of Excel formulas and manipulation of raw data (an Excel test). It wasn't too difficult and took some time, but I actually like case studies for showcasing skills over just talking about myself. The final interview was with the CFO, and then a final wrap-up with the hiring manager again, where I was informed about the offer. The whole process felt very reasonable, and everyone I met was great.

It was a long process, spanning about three months. There were two phone screens, followed by a set of five back-to-back in-person interviews. Additionally, two design tests were required: one involved technical problems and challenges, and the other asked for the creation of five visual design assets. Communication was slow, and there seemed to be a lack of coordination between the recruiting team and the hiring team.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was pretty standard, but they were really fixated on their laptops. They wouldn't start until they had launched some application on their laptops, and it seemed like they were recording the interview without asking. It was odd. Every time I answered a question, they would look down at their screens for a few seconds before proceeding, which made it feel awkward, maybe they were following a script.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • They asked the basic questions, and repeated the same ones multiple times.
