Behavioral

Applied for a role that seemed like a good fit for my background. I got a generic email from a recruiter at pave stating they weren't moving forward with my application and that I'm effectively blocked from applying to any position at pave for the next 6 months. While impersonal rejections are common, the added restriction on future applications was quite unexpected and sheds light on the company's culture and the hiring team's EQ.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process started with an initial hiring screen, then a call with the hiring manager about 24 hours later. Right after that, I was asked to come on site for a panel interview and a presentation. This included a recruiter screen, a hiring manager discussion, and a panel with a director. There was also a live presentation that lasted an hour, and I met with the team in person. It was a bit disorganized when I arrived; nobody was there to greet me or direct me in the office. The team itself was great and friendly. I appreciated how fast they moved, but it was a lot of work.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

I had a recruiter screen, then a technical screen, followed by a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager. The final round had 5 interviews: system design, debugging, a session with the hiring manager, a behavioral interview with a product manager, and a coding interview. Finally, I had a wrap-up with the recruiter. I emailed the recruiter after not hearing back for a few weeks and they never responded.

Behavioral Technical Case

The interview process included a recruiter screen, a chat with the hiring manager, and a take-home assignment. We then went over the take-home and a case study. Although I had some good conversations, it felt like my candidacy wasn't a top priority for the recruiter, and I was sort of a backup. They got back to me after the case study to say the roles were filled. It felt like a waste of time to do the take-home from that perspective, but the hiring manager was great and responsive. It's a good company, but proceed with caution if you have other opportunities and want to be mindful of your time and energy.
