First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Paubox.
VP of Engineering
Applied and the recruiting team reached out fast. Had a call with HR within a week. Didn't move forward, but she explained the process which sounded good. Then would meet with the CEO, then the tech team, and finally a few exec team members.
- What's your approach to building remote teams?
Technical Support Specialist
Started with an initial call from the recruiter, who was very nice and professional. If that went well, the next step was a second interview with a support manager, which was also a pleasant chat. During this interview, I could ask more technical questions and learn more about Paubox, though I did my own research too. The final interview involved speaking with the support manager again, but this time back-to-back with three other people: HR, and two senior technical employees. They were all great and knowledgeable, but the technical employees asked some weak questions that didn't focus enough on relevant skills like software, email setup, or troubleshooting. I had to steer the conversation back to my experience, avoiding vague questions that could be detrimental. Questions should have been more focused on Office 365, Gmail, networking, or application support.
- What superpower would you choose?
- Can you describe a difficult situation you faced?
- Tell me about overcoming an obstacle.
Account Executive
The recruiter reached out to me and we had a screening call, then a panel interview, then I was given a sales pitch prompt where I had 1-2 weeks to create a presentation, followed by a second panel interview and an email follow up.
- What makes you want to join Pau Box?
- Tell me about your interest in the healthcare industry.
- Describe your approach to handling technical inquiries.
Technical Support Manager
Typical startup interview process: It started with a 30-minute chat with a recruiter, followed by a 45-minute interview with the hiring VP. Then there was a round of back-to-back interviews with the tech support and customer success teams. Everyone was nice and the interviews were pretty easy. At the end of the last one with the hiring VP, he asked me to draft an email for customers about a system outage. I guess I didn't do too well.
- How do you communicate negative information to a customer?
- Describe a situation where you exceeded expectations to help a customer.
- If you had to choose, what color crayon would you be?
