First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Patterson Companies.
Sales Representative
I applied online and immediately took a personality test. Then, I got an email for a phone interview. Within a week, I had a face-to-face meeting where I was asked to do a ride-along and got details about the training process, location, and timing. The manager said he'd call to schedule the ride-along, but he never did, so I emailed him. He mentioned he had to do a few more interviews to schedule several ride-alongs together. Two months later, I followed up again, and he told me he'd hired someone else, even though he had guaranteed I'd hear back. I figured being asked to do a ride-along meant I wasn't out, and I ended up waiting two months for nothing.

Sales Representative
So first I had to do a couple of written tests, then they called me in for the interview. The interview itself was pretty standard, asking about managers, accomplishments, ethics, and weaknesses.
- In 20 seconds, why should I hire you?
- Describe a good manager.
- Describe a bad manager.
Sales Representative
I was referred by another territory manager and interviewed with an HR person. It was pretty basic scenario sales questions. At the end of the interview, I asked if I would be advanced to the next stage and the interviewer said he would pass me along to the hiring manager. He also said he would put in a calendar reminder in his calendar to follow up with me in one week. One week came and went with no additional information so I sent him a follow up email and received no response. Assuming they filled the position. Very unprofessional
