First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Patrick Engineering.
Management
First up was a 30-minute phone screen with a recruiter. Then, a 60-minute video interview with the hiring manager. Finally, an in-person interview with the hiring team that lasted up to 2 hours.
- Can you describe your past work and experience?
Project Controls
It was a thorough interview process. They asked technical and general questions. I interviewed with two project controls managers and then interviewed with the potential client. It was a mix of an exam with P6 and questions to test my technical abilities.
- Can you discuss your experience on previous projects and provide examples of challenges you faced and leadership you demonstrated?
Project Manager
The current interview process is totally different now. We get resumes from people applying on the website or from referrals. HR first looks at the resumes to find people for open jobs and then sends those to the managers. Managers pick who they want to interview. Phone interviews usually happen next. After the phone screen, we schedule onsite interviews with the manager or managers. We also give a Wonderlic test as part of the screening.
- Tell me about your motivation for wanting to join Patrick.
Electrical Engineer
Had two interviews. First one was with HR, super basic. Second one was with the senior manager, and it was all behavioral questions. The whole thing felt really cordial and friendly. The senior manager made me feel really comfortable, so it was a unique and positive experience.
- Can you share an instance where you had to work with industry standards and describe how you implemented them in your project?
