The interview process was pretty standard for creative roles. First, there was an HR screening. Then, I had an interview with two department heads. After that, HR gave me a practical project, which was to create a video. Finally, I interviewed with the head of the department.

First, I got contacted to schedule an interview and was asked to record a video via Loom answering 3 standard questions and send it before the interview. My first and only interview was virtual, early in the morning due to the interviewer being overseas. It was with a very nice HR rep who made me feel comfortable and we really hit it off. She explained the role expectations clearly, which I was experienced in, especially with YouTube ads and content creation. I mentioned my past experience with multi-million ad campaigns and how I successfully implemented creative ads. The next step she mentioned was a test exam that would take about an hour, followed by a panel interview, and then a final interview with the Marketing Director, plus the usual background check and other procedures. A few hours later, the marketing director sent me the test exam link via email, and I took it right away. The exam itself was really flawed and didn't accurately represent anyone's abilities for this job. It had questions about navigating social platforms and other questions where multiple answers were possible but only one could be chosen. I had to answer 16 questions three times back-to-back in 10 minutes each, followed by a personality section. That testgorilla part was awful and rushed, and my scores didn't reflect my actual knowledge or skills. I then emailed the Marketing Director to thank him for the exam, noting that many questions had multiple valid answers, making it tricky. This was on a Friday. By Tuesday, I received an email stating they had selected candidates with more experience. While I respect their decision, it's frustrating that I never got to talk to a marketing professional or showcase my skills to the relevant team. I have certifications for all social platforms and a strong reputation in this field, so I'm not sure why I wasn't considered qualified. However, everything happens for a reason, so no hard feelings! Before and after the interview process, I researched the company and they seem like a great organization. Their structure (aside from the interview, haha) is admirable, and they've experienced significant growth that they deserve. I believe the person who gets this job will love their culture, and even though I'm disappointed I won't be a part of it, I still think highly of the company and appreciate the opportunity.

Interviewing at Patch My PC was a fairly intense experience because they're really committed to maintaining their company culture and making sure they find the right person for each job. I started by sending in my application, which included my resume, some written answers, and a video response. Then, I took an aptitude test relevant to the role and completed a DISC work personality assessment. After that, I had three virtual interviews that increased in difficulty. There were also a few written responses required between each interview. Throughout this whole process, PMPC was great at responding, communicating, and being available. I could schedule interviews when it was convenient for me, and I never had to wait more than a few days for an update.

My interview process was one of the best I'd ever had. From the very beginning, interviews with varying members of different teams to the final interview with the CEO, everyone was very welcoming, engaging, and great to chat with. The interview definitely felt like it was more about me and how I would fit in with the team rather than my technical ability, which was a very nice and refreshing experience. The tech tests were very well presented as well as challenging and engaging.
