I had two interviews with the Finance team and one with HR. It was surprising that for such an established company, the processes were not modernized. It seems like they are very much a bare bones startup. The interviews were fine, and I appreciated the candor, but ultimately I felt that what they required of this role was more than what is generally part of it.

Even though I saw some bad reviews on Glassdoor, I decided to try for the role. The HR person I spoke with wasn't very welcoming, which set an awkward tone right away. It was strange because usually, that first call is meant to make you excited about the company. The interview itself was easy, but when I brought up the compensation, the HR lady acted surprised I would even ask, as if I should be grateful for the opportunity to work at Pat McGrath. They told me a week later that I didn't get the job, and honestly, I felt like saying 'no worries, same here!'. It's a shame because Pat is so respected and the products are great, but it looks like they need to sort some things out internally.

After applying online, I spoke with the HR Director. It was a pretty standard interview. I think they were hoping for someone with more retail/beauty experience, which I don't have. They were transparent about the workload, which I appreciated. It was an average experience overall.
