First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pason Systems.
Software Developer
Got referred by a previous co-worker to his boss. Sent my resume and after a while, they scheduled me for an interview with a panel of team members. The interview had 3 parts. The first was with 2 managers for about 1.5 hours. The second was with 4 team members where they asked a lot of technical questions, like a verbal test. The last part was a follow-up with one of the managers to discuss my fit for the role. I was rejected about 6 days later because they said I was too qualified for the role. My contact said they thought they couldn't afford me and didn't want to offer a salary that was much lower than my previous one.
- Given you're overqualified and seeking a more senior role, how would you stay motivated in this position?
- Please examine the source code provided and identify and explain a minimum of 6 problems within it.
Software Engineer Intern
The interview was a nice experience overall, and it included both behavioral and technical parts. They asked me about how I would handle specific scenarios and my general work habits. For the technical part, I was asked to code a basic algorithm, and they also checked my understanding of data structures and my ability to solve problems.
- Behavioral and technical questions were asked.

Software Developer
So I had an online interview with two people. First, they talked about themselves for a bit. Then I did a quick intro about myself. After that, they asked me some general behavioral questions. Finally, they hit me with some technical questions about object-oriented programming and algorithms.
- Could you write a binary tree implementation?
- How would you approach tree node traversal?
