First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Particle (CA).
Engineer
The company initially contacted me about my availability for an interview. I provided my availability twice, but received no follow-up. I sent 8 follow-up emails and still haven't heard back. The job has been reposted and there's no contact info for the company. Particle really showed they don't respect candidates' time or take their hiring process seriously.
- What is your availability? Just kidding!
Director of People Operations
So I had like two phone calls and then an onsite thing. The first phone call felt really personal, they wanted to know too much about my life outside of work. The second phone call was way better though. I wish I could say the same about the onsite interview. The first two meetings were okay, but the last person from Particle who interviewed me really needs training, like, yesterday. Her questions were weird and she didn't seem to know much about the job or what to ask. Side note for Particle: the interviews are 3 hours long, and the people interviewing me lacked basic courtesy. It's really uncomfortable to be stuck in a small meeting room for 3 hours, it makes you really reconsider the job.
- Can you elaborate on your experience with training and development initiatives?
- How would you foster employee growth in a company setting?
- What are your strategies for effective recruitment?
Manager
The entire Particle team is involved in the interview process, from initial contact to the offer. They've really put thought into crafting a respectful and transparent experience, keeping you informed about your progress at each stage. It's impressive how much care they've taken with their hiring, especially for a company at this early stage.
- Were there questions focused on your competency?
- Were there questions focused on your relevant experiences?
- Were there behavioral questions asked?
Marketing
The interview process was really smooth. Tina (the recruiter) was on top of her stuff - very responsive, great with scheduling. Overall everyone I met was really professional, allowed me to ask a lot of questions too, and made me feel comfortable. I had a few individual follow ups with the interviewers as well which I really appreciated the extra time to figure out if it was a mutual fit with the team.
- Where would you identify growth patterns from our customer base within the funnel?
