First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PARTech.
Software Developer
It was a 3 level interview process. The questions were normal, but the managerial round was a bit intense. The manager put pressure on me, saying things like 'you need to work hard, or I'll have to select you, and you'll need to put in extra time'. This kind of pressure isn't typical for interviews at other companies.
- General coding questions were asked.
- Can you explain the distinct uses of abstract classes and interfaces?
Software Engineer
Started with a regular HR chat, then there was a company intro and I presented myself. After that, we set up a time to receive a take-home task which has no deadline, but they asked when I can expect a solution, and I got the task via email. The backend task itself was well-designed. I noticed several design patterns like Strategy and Factory that needed implementing. The technical interview felt very academic, focusing on a lot of theory about PHP, Laravel, and general database concepts. It seemed like the person who asked the questions wasn't the one who reviewed my take-home assignment.
- Can you explain polymorphism?
- Can you explain inheritance?
- Could you describe the SOLID principles?
Software Engineer
It was a pretty standard interview. The first one was over the phone and the second was a video call. I liked talking to Jason White on the phone; he asked about my general knowledge, not just textbook stuff. The second interview also seemed to go well. It started with general behavioral questions, then I had to code a URL shortener. I wasn't thrilled they asked for C#.Net when I planned on JS, but I did it anyway. It ended positively, but I was bummed about not getting feedback and just a generic rejection. It made me realize the company culture wasn't for me, so it worked out. Overall, it was a good experience.
- What are some general definitions related to design patterns and .NET questions?
- Can you implement a URL shortener in C#.Net?
