The application process was super easy and I got text updates as promised. Then, Patti, the recruiter, gave me a call and we had a really good 25-30 minute chat. We were on the same page about the job and pay right away. They scheduled the interviews quickly, and I had 4 interviews over 2 weeks. Two were one-on-one, and the other two were with groups. I got an offer the same day as my last interview! They sent the official offer and details within 2 days, and I accepted. The company and their HR/recruiting team are just amazing.

Got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter and then had a phone interview the next day. The recruiter was good and knew stuff, the questions were standard: Tell me about yourself? What communication types do you use? What's your golf background? Salary expectations? After that, I had to do two questionnaires, took about an hour. A few days later, interviewed with the hiring manager. It was more of a deep dive into the job. Asked about my golf history, willingness to travel, and comfort on the golf course. I felt good about moving on to the next two interviews (so 4 total before an offer), but then they emailed saying they wanted someone with more 'green grass experience'. They decided fast.

So I talked to HR first, and she asked me the usual stuff like strengths, weaknesses, and teamwork. She liked me and set up a call with the managing engineer for the next day. I then spoke with the managing engineer. He asked me the same questions HR did, went over the job details, and then invited me for an on-site. The on-site was a mess. It started late, and HR wasn't sure who I was meeting or when. The managing engineer was late too. When he finally showed up, he asked me the same questions from the phone call, then gave me a tour of the place. After that, another engineer interviewed me. He was knowledgeable and asked relevant questions, though some were repeats from earlier. We talked about the company and industry, then went to lunch with the managing engineer and that other engineer. Back at the office, the managing engineer said someone else would see me, but then he came back and ended the interview, saying they'd let me know by week's end. Ten days later, HR emailed saying they hired someone else. The company feels like a startup, reliant on its founder, with manufacturing issues and a need for more stable processes. They mentioned hiring mistakes, and honestly, their interview process needs work. Having everyone ask the same fit questions doesn't show what someone can actually do. They should ask harder questions and have a better on-site plan, or they'll keep missing good people.

I sent in my application online. It took about two weeks for the recruiter to get back to me. The first phone call was a basic screening. I had to complete two online personality tests. Then, I had an in-person interview scheduled for later that week. It was with a manager and two team members. The manager asked about my background and my golf knowledge before having to leave due to a scheduling conflict. The two team members asked some standard interview questions, and I asked them for more details about the job. After they finished their questions, the conversation was pretty uneventful. I was hoping for a quick decision since I was waiting on other job offers. A week later, I got an email saying I wasn't chosen for the next steps.
