Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Parkview Medical Center.
Registered Nurse
The interview was about 30 minutes long, with department managers. Since the department was really busy that day, I only met with one manager. They mostly asked behavioral questions.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Describe a situation where you had a disagreement with a colleague and how you resolved it.
- Tell me about a time you managed an upset patient and how you handled it.
Registered Nurse
This interview process was terrible. The people involved were disorganized and lacked communication between departments, leading to confusion and a lack of clear answers. There were issues with scheduling, and the HR department seemed particularly uninformed and ineffective. It felt like some individuals in HR and employment should be let go.
- What is your approach when you observe a colleague making mistakes: do you confront them directly or report them?
- Describe your preferred course of action when witnessing improper conduct: would you confront the individual, escalate to management, or take another step?
Registered Nurse
So I applied, and it took about two weeks to hear back. Then Jackie, who is super efficient, gave me a call for a phone screening. A few days later, the director called me for a phone interview. After that, Jackie called me again in two days and said they wanted me to come in for an in-person interview. It was pretty laid back, not intense at all. And the same day, Jackie offered me the job!
- They asked standard interview questions focusing on attitude and personality.
