First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Parker Remick.
Analyst
The interviews themselves were about 3 rounds. One round was a meet-and-great with different team members asking questions. Another round was an exercise. However, during my meet-and-great with two more senior leaders, one of them said that the culture requires folks to speak up and asked if I would be okay with that because I’m Asian and that can be a cultural barrier. Not only did that feel inappropriate, I was born in the US. Within that same round, they proceeded to ask me “what advice would you give my daughter” without much context, which felt like an oddly personal question and one I was asked because I was a woman. Overall, I got the impression that this firm is outdated in their leadership and could use sensitivity / D&I training. I would not recommend applying for the company if you’re a woman of color, I personally don’t think any job is worth putting up with such painful ignorance.

While everyone I spoke with at Parker Remick was polite and professional, the interview process was the most disjointed process I have ever experienced. Please work on streamlining to perhaps three or four time slots (maybe for one have candidate speak with multiple interviewers in a row). Codify this so everyone goes through the same sequence. Besides the disorganization, it is a standard interview sequence: speak with hiring manager, skills assessment, speak with partners. Nothing too surprising or overly difficult. However, I have decided to rate it as difficult because it was prolonged unnecessarily.

I applied online and had a phone interview with a current analyst. She was super friendly and really cared about my experiences and what I had to say. She liked me and moved me to the next phone interview with my potential boss. He was also very polite. Be ready to talk about technology, its importance, and how it affects you. Overall, it was a good experience, no complaints. They were really set on asking "Why Seattle?" (where the job was located). I lived far away and they both asked me this, so I'm not sure what kind of answer they were looking for.

The onsite interview included a skills assessment covering grammar, spelling, and essay writing. We had to answer questions like 'Name your favorite virtue and explain why.' There was also a typing test. After that, I spoke with two current PR employees. The office space was nice, with beautiful open areas and views from the windows, though not many people were physically present.
