Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Parker Hannifin.
Mechanical Engineer
There was a group discussion (GD) with all the candidates in batches. After that, the selected candidates were called for the other rounds. It started with the technical round where questions related to the basics of mechanical engineering were asked. Finally, there was an HR interview.
- What are the basic concepts of mechanical engineering?
Mechanical Engineering Co-Op
I had a phone interview that was about 15-20 minutes long. The hiring manager talked to me about my engineering abilities, what I'm good at and not so good at. They also asked about my school projects. On top of that, they asked if I was familiar with taking measurements and using specific engineering tools. I got offered the job about 2 weeks later.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Mechanical Engineer
I did an on-campus interview with 4 people at once: a mechanical engineer, a procurement engineer, and two HR people. They mostly asked about my past internship experience, and the questions were pretty easy. The HR folks asked some standard behavioral questions like 'Tell me about a time when you...'. It was a pretty standard interview process overall, nothing too unusual if you have some prior interview experience.
- None that I can recall in particular.
- All the questions came right off of my resume from what I can remember.
