First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Parkdean Resorts.
Waiter Bartender
The interview process was pretty straightforward. When I went to drop off my CV, I didn't realize I'd have an interview right then and there, but honestly, that made it less nerve-wracking.
- Can you discuss your past work history?
- How would you handle a situation with a customer who has an issue?
Sales Advisor
I applied online. The day after, an HR rep called me for about 20 minutes. They told me about the job and asked me why I was interested and about my experience. A few days later, they called to say I was moving on to a formal interview. I had the interview in person at Parkdean Resorts. The interviewer was late. Then, in a common area with a loud TV, I was asked a couple questions because the interviewer didn't like the ones on the hiring form. He mentioned that the sales team fights a lot. When it was over, other sales team members stared at me as I left, which was weird. I got a call a week later saying I wasn't successful, which I was glad about because the site looked bad and it would be dishonest to sell there. The feedback was that other candidates had more sales experience.
- Can you tell me what you know about this position?
- What's your understanding of what 'sales' entails?
- What do you know about Parkdean?
Administrative Assistant
It was a very thorough and pleasant process. They showed me the office and site and outlined the procedure. The team was friendly and approachable, and everything was completed swiftly and efficiently in terms of the starting process and training.
- Tell me about your experience in previous administrative roles.
Social Media Manager
The hiring manager was only on the phone call for 5 minutes before leaving me with someone who had only been at the company for a few weeks. The new person asked some awkward questions because they clearly didn't know what they were doing. Then the hiring manager walked back in, said something like 'ok great, well thanks for coming in,' and ended the interview. After that, I had to chase them for a response for 13 weeks. It was shocking.
