First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Park Hyatt.
Food and Beverage Attendant
The interview was conducted online via Zoom and a phone call. They inquired about your prior experience and whether you were knowledgeable about the hotel and the specific role. You would first speak with HR, then with the managers. Be ready for phone calls at any time during business hours after you apply.
- Can you describe a time you handled a challenging customer in a past job?
HR Manager
I had an interview with the General Manager. It was quick and he asked relevant questions. He also gave me all the info I needed about the job and the location. The Corporate Office was good at communicating; they kept me updated on everything that was happening in the process.
- What are your thoughts on handling the challenges of working on a remote island, with the 24/7 responsibility for a diverse team based there?
Housekeeping Manager
I was contacted via email and had a Zoom interview that lasted about 30 minutes. They asked open-ended questions that required elaboration, without specific details about the position I'd be filling. They didn't ask about my current role, achievements, improvements, changes, etc.
- In what position would you be interested in developing yourself in the future?
Events Manager
It was a very pleasant experience. Initially, I met with the department head in the lobby, which was relaxed and welcoming. Then, I spoke with HR. After that, there was a trial work period of about 3 hours where I completed simple tasks with the team, took a tour, attended a meeting, and answered questions.
