Software Engineer
I applied online for this Technical Consultant, Software Engineer job. A recruiter called me a few days later to set up a 30-minute chat, which was basically an HR screen. We talked about my background and experience from my resume, and I shared examples from past jobs. They asked the usual strengths and weaknesses question, and I answered with things like being good at problem-solving and learning new tech, but sometimes getting too focused on details, though I'm working on prioritization. It was a chill conversation, and the recruiter seemed fine. But I got rejected the next day with a generic email. Based on what I've read, Pariveda usually has a longer process: recruiter screen -> technical test -> behavioral interviews -> case study -> maybe more with leaders, taking weeks. It's supposed to be thorough. So if you pass the first call, expect more. My experience ended after the first HR call, and it seems like the chances drop a lot after each step. If you're interviewing, don't stress too much about the first call—just be yourself and talk about your experience. But know it's super competitive, and even a good call doesn't mean you'll move on. The low odds after round one seem legit from my experience and others' reviews.
- Could you tell us about your strengths and weaknesses?
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward and standard, and I enjoyed it overall. The recruiter was very nice and kept in touch throughout. The hiring team seemed fair and reasonable, and they asked some good questions.
- Could you share a bit about your background?
Software Engineer
The process had 3 parts. First, an HR call to go over my resume. Then, a technical interview where I solved a problem with a senior dev. Lastly, a behavioral interview focusing on soft skills. I had some issues with the behavioral part, lots of questions about why I don't like my current job, which is hard to answer when you don't know the interviewer. It was tough because I'm leaving due to harassment and I didn't want to sound like a problem. I got rejected because my reasons for leaving weren't clear. So, if you have a sensitive reason for leaving, prepare your answers. Overall, I liked the process, but it felt too subjective, and I don't think everyone has a fair chance.
- Given your current tech stack, how would you implement a website feature?
