This was a thorough and pleasant interview process, beginning with a very professional and personable recruiter, a conversation with HR, a short interview with an engineering manager, an interview with two engineers on the team, and a final interview with another engineering manager. All people involved were very easy-going, laid back but professional, and very competent. The company moved quick and made a strong offer.

They reached out to me and based on my industry experience it seemed like a good fit. The recruiter was nice enough and explained the job to me and the function I would be managing. The pay was surprisingly low but I continued. About a 1/3 of the way into the interview process they added the management of 3 additional functions that were never mentioned nor described in the job description. I should have withdrawn at this point but they seemed liked good people. I proceeded through 8 interviews over several weeks all with positive feedback. Then I never heard another word. Reached out many times and was just ghosted. I've been in this industry for awhile so I reached out to a recruiter friend of mine and asked them about Parchment. He just groaned and rolled his eyes. Told me I dodged a bullet and that they had numerous leadership issues and no vision. And given where I ended up, I certainly did dodge a bullet. Moral of the story...beware, this a small company that thinks even smaller.

I kicked things off with a phone screen with a recruiter. She seemed to know the role well and was great about answering my questions about the company. At the end, she mentioned passing feedback to the SVP and setting up a chat if it made sense. The next day, I got an email and scheduled a call with him for the day after that. We had a good chat where he asked about my past experiences. He also gave me plenty of time to ask my own questions, which was a nice touch. Both people were super respectful and clearly enthusiastic about their company, and they asked really relevant questions.
