First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Parasoft.
Account Manager
Started with a few calls that got progressively harder and deeper, which went well. Then, I went to HQ for a full day of interviews with the VP of Sales, VP of Product, and the Chief Strategy Officer. You really need to have done your homework because they expect you to be knowledgeable about the business. If you're not, you don't belong there. I didn't get an offer at HQ, but after two more calls discussing my sales approach and experience, I got a great offer, which I accepted.
- Can you explain the value proposition of our technology?
Software Engineer
The whole process was super rude and disorganized. The interviewer actually forgot to call me at the scheduled time, so I had to call HR about it 30 minutes later. Then the HR person blamed me for calling and rescheduled for 3 days later. The interviewer wasn't much better and asked me about languages I don't even know, even though they weren't on my resume or in the job description. After I couldn't answer some technical questions about a language I don't know, he said I was wasting his time. If you're going to interview someone who clearly stated they don't know a language you want, and didn't put it in the job description, then don't waste my time by trying to interview me.
- What computer science languages are you familiar with?
- Could you answer some medium to high-level Java questions?
Business Development Representative
It started with a phone interview, then an in-person meeting that included a presentation. I put a lot of effort into the presentation and got great feedback from the hiring manager, HR, and an engineer who attended. The hiring manager and HR made it seem like I did so well that the only remaining step was to meet the VP of Sales, who was out of town. The next week, the recruiter called and said I was overqualified, and they decided to keep my presentation deck.
- Can you prepare and present a PowerPoint on one of our products?
Business Development
I was first contacted by an external recruiter who scheduled a phone call. Following that, I had an in-person meeting with the hiring manager and some technical team members. They also asked me to prepare a presentation about their products.
- How would you respond to potential customer inquiries regarding our products?
- Could you deliver a presentation showcasing our products?
- What are the main characteristics of the products we offer?
