& Process

I got in touch with a recruiter first. Then I had a zoom call with about four other people, including my potential direct manager. We discussed a compensation package for the first two months to help me get started, which everyone seemed to agree on. I even visited the office where I would have been working, and the branch manager confirmed the compensation. However, soon after, I was told that the initial two-month compensation offer would no longer be provided.

Right after applying, I had a 30-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. She was super responsive at first, and we had a solid 30-minute conversation. It seemed to go well, and she said she'd let me know either way. I emailed her that evening, and she replied late that night. I waited a week, heard nothing, so I followed up again. Still no reply. I waited another week and sent one last email to check if I was still in the running. No response at all. It's been almost a month, so I'm guessing I've been ghosted. It's pretty rude not to send a simple rejection, you know? I don't get why she was so responsive initially, even replying to my first follow-up, and then just went silent. No updates, nothing. She was really nice on the phone, and I was super hyped about the role after talking to her, only to be ghosted.

It was a super friendly process. A recruiter from the company reached out to me on LinkedIn and we scheduled a phone call. They gave me enough info to decide if I wanted to move forward. The next step was going to be a phone or video interview. The whole point of the process is to see if it's a good fit for both of us.

I got contacted for an interview 4 months after applying. The manager told me they would interview me for a Jr. Processor role. The interview was with my state's branch manager and a loan officer over Zoom. They emailed right before our call saying they would be 15 mins late due to other interviews. During the interview, I asked about the title change and was told by the branch manager that she may have pulled my application from the wrong bucket. She said Processors need more than 3 years of experience, so I didn't qualify. Near the end, I was asked to provide references by the next day and told they wanted me for a second round interview the following week. I submitted my references but never heard back. After my references and follow up went unanswered, I assumed I was being ghosted and wouldn't get an offer. Three weeks later, I got an official denial email.
