First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Paradowski Creative.
Graphic Designer
The interviews were really conversational and didn't feel like an interrogation. I felt super comfortable. They seemed interested in how I think through problems, which was a good sign. I met with a bunch of different team members so I could get a feel for the various teams I'd be working with. There were 3 interviews in total.
- Could you walk me through some of your portfolio projects?
Account Manager
The interview process was quite lengthy. Around two months from application to decision. I had eight separate interviews. Three with the account team, three with the creative team, one with the COO, and another with their Chief of Staff. The interviews on their own weren't difficult, very conversational and everyone was very kind. I do think it could have been condensed a bit. Anything more than five interviews feels excessive, especially for a candidate asking for less than six figures.
- Can you describe your typical daily responsibilities?
- Could you explain your collaboration process with the creative team in your current agency?
- What aspects of your current position do you find most enjoyable?
Art Director
It was a really nice, back-and-forth chat that was engaging. They were interested in my professional background but also wanted to get to know me as a person. They were open about their own personalities and were playful, which suggests they really value their employees.
- Tell me about your creative process.
Developer
The first phone interview was okay. The company's follow-up communication (or lack thereof) is what really prompted this negative review. About 5 days post-interview, I emailed the HR/Communications contact who handled my interview to check on the status and offered to come in for a brief 20-minute chat in person at their convenience. I received no reply. Twelve days after the phone interview, I called the interviewer for a second follow-up, but the call was ignored. Thirteen days after the phone interview, I called again. This time, the call was answered, presumably because they realized I wasn't going to stop trying to get a response. The interviewer stated they were still deciding and promised to get back to me within one to two weeks. As of now, it's been nearly 60 days since the phone interview with no word from the company, despite my attempts to follow up. This hiring process really showed me what Paradowski's values are. They don't seem to value promptness, making decisions, respecting people's time, or clear communication. It feels like they avoid professional responsibilities when they might lead to difficult conversations. The fact that a coding candidate communicated better than their Communications person is quite telling. Professionally, they should have at least acknowledged my follow-up email instead of ignoring it, or proactively followed up themselves to avoid me needing to chase them. Finally, they should have provided a decision, whether positive or negative. While you don't owe every applicant who submits a resume a response, any candidate who invests their time in an interview deserves a conclusion much sooner than 60 days. It's a quick and inexpensive process.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
