We started with a written test to see how well you know the basics of accounting, like AR and AP. It was meant to check your core financial knowledge and how you'd apply it. The test covered things like double-entry bookkeeping, making journal entries, posting to ledgers, how to handle receivables and payables, tracking invoices and payments, and using Excel functions like VLOOKUP, IFERROR, TRIM, and PivotTables for accounting tasks.

I had a one-on-one chat with the store manager, who was really nice and easy to talk to. I was asked a lot of competency-based questions, some of which were a bit tricky. She gave me a good amount of information about the job. Then, I had a second interview that involved a shop floor trial. The store manager introduced me to the rest of the team, and I had to do a walk-around of the shop floor, pointing out any areas that could be improved, like the window display. The manager told me not to hold back and to be as critical as I wanted. She explained a form to me and gave me 20 minutes to fill it out. Once I was done, I discussed my suggestions with another Senior Sales Consultant. The store manager contacted me by the end of the day.
