HR emailed to set up an initial 15-minute phone chat. The HR person was super nice and easy to talk to, which made me feel good about the company and the job. Then, they scheduled a video call. In that second interview, the interviewer was dressed super casually, like a t-shirt, and had a messy bun. I know things are more relaxed now with video calls, but it felt like she wasn't taking my interview seriously. She was really cold and just got straight to the point. The third interview had two people. One of them joined the call late, also dressed in a t-shirt with messy hair. I thought things were going okay until one of them kept asking me repeatedly, "Why do you want THIS job because nothing on your resume reflects Customer Success?" It was really confusing because I've worked in customer service/success for over 10 years, including for a huge company. I didn't get why she kept saying my experience wasn't relevant. She also said she felt like I "just wanted any job." I just smiled and nodded through the whole awkward interview. Honestly, two of the four people I talked to were just really rude and off-putting. I didn't get any specific feedback on why I wasn't selected, just a generic "we decided to move forward with other candidates." It was a super disappointing experience, especially since the interviews took over two weeks and a lot of my time. It's not easy to make time for 2+ hours of interviews when you're currently employed. I felt like they didn't appreciate my time or effort at all.

The team at Global really cares about finding someone who's a good match, both in terms of skills and fitting in with the company culture. The interviewers were really nice, helpful, and upfront, and they were happy to answer whatever questions I had throughout the hiring process. I was asked to do a take-home assignment where I had to prepare a 20-minute presentation about a specific scenario within Papaya. It felt like a fair task, it wasn't too much work, and they gave me plenty of time to get ready for it. Overall, my experience was good, and I'd definitely suggest Papaya Global to other people.

I had an initial phone chat, then another meeting. It took around two weeks to hear back positively, and then another two weeks to set up a remote interview with the COO. After that, things didn't go well. I got a rejection email that didn't match our discussions. Following another call, I was invited to interview with the CEO. A week after that, I received a brief email, not at all fitting the process, stating they wouldn't hire me. My skills were never actually evaluated. There was no assignment or questions about my experience, yet they made a decision based on my 'professional background.' No HR or recruiter was involved, making the whole thing feel quite unprofessional.
