Account Manager
The interview process took two months for just three 30-minute conversation stages, which felt unnecessarily drawn out. I had to follow up with the recruiter about ten times because they were unresponsive, despite talking a lot about growth. The feedback after each round was good, but after investing so much time, the final rejection email said I had great experience that matched what they were looking for, even more than they wanted, but then said they wanted someone with the same experience, which made no sense and contradicted earlier feedback. The main points discussed during the calls were about working long hours and having no personal life, as mentioned by someone in the same role who seemed burnt out and by the managers. I'm glad I didn't get the job because, considering how poorly they managed this initial part, the actual working environment sounds like it would be a disaster.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- Would you be alright with not having a 9-5 schedule and having no personal life?
Key Account Manager
First, there was a recruiter call, a very general introduction to the role and the process. Then, I spoke with the Direct Manager about the day-to-day job, responsibilities, and the team. After that, the Head of gave an overview of the company, how teams work together, and the role's place within the company. Next, I had a conversation with the Director where we discussed the job, its potential for evolution, and the journey at Papaya Global. Finally, HR inquired about my previous experiences and personality.
- What were some of the challenges you encountered in your previous role?
- Can you tell me about the day to day duties?
- Can you describe the team I would be working with?
Account Manager
I sent in my CV and then had a conversation with the recruiter, but nothing came of it. They never got back to me, and the recruiter is now ghosting my messages. It's not a great way to treat candidates, and I really wish they'd handle things differently.
